Robert McClintock is Director of the Institute of Learning Technologies at Columbia University. He is an intellectual historian and national leader in innovations of educational reform that ensure democratic equity. He is the author of Power and Pedagogy: Transforming Education through Information Technology,Computing and Education: The Second Frontier and Man and His Circumstances: Ortega as Educator. He is the Co-principal Investigator of Where are We?, a project sponsored by Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory at Columbia University aimed at developing instructional materials to help elementary school students learn to "translate" from maps to reality and vice versa and is currently director of the pilot project web site Reinventing Libraries, which is a digital collection of texts for schools that have been traditionally socio-economically disadvantaged and brings together sites relevant to New York State School Standards.
