Teodolinda Barolini is Chair and Director of Graduate Studies in the Italian Department at Columbia University. She is the author of Dante's Poets, which received the John Nicholas Brown Prize from the Medieval Academy and the Howard R. Marraro Prize from the Modern Language Association, and more recently, The Undivine Comedy: Detheologizing Dante. She received the Presidential Award for Outstanding Teaching from Columbia University. She is an ardent supporter of the use of new technologies in the university classroom and is a proponent of the increasing digitization of works taught in the Literature Humanities course of Columbia College's Core Curriculum.
